Care and Maintenance for NatureClad Cladding

NatureClad profiles are designed with a high-performance, multi-layer protective film that includes a transparent Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) surface layer, providing robust protection against sunlight and weather. The Renolit PFX foils add a transparent PVDF layer for additional durability. Proper care is essential to maintaining the weatherability and color stability of the cladding.
Handling Tips
  • Use gloves during installation to reduce oil transfer from hands onto the cladding surface. Oils can be more visible on the super-matt finish, but any marks can be removed following the standard cleaning instructions.
Recommended Cleaning Practices
  • Clean with water and a neutral detergent, such as soap or diluted washing-up liquid, using a soft sponge or cloth.
Avoid These Practices to Protect the Surface
  • No abrasive cleaners or sponges: Avoid abrasive products as they can scratch the protective layer, reducing its effectiveness.
  • No aggressive cleaners with solvents: Solvents can damage the surface layer, leading to a reduced lifespan.
  • No water-displacing sprays (e.g., WD40) or silicone sprays: These contain ingredients that may degrade the surface layer.
  • No dry or mechanical cleaning methods: Avoid using rotating brushes or similar tools.
When using any detergent, ensure it complies with the manufacturer’s usage instructions and is safe for Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) surfaces. Always choose neutral, non-concentrated cleaning agents specifically approved for PMMA.
