Dry Verge Installation Guide

Step 1: Install Tiling Battens
  • Position the tiling battens with a 30-50mm overhang over the brick or barge board.
  • For refurbishment projects, remove existing mortar bedding and install a new tiling batten beneath the existing one.
Step 2: Lay Tiles and Attach Batten End Clips
  • Lay tiles so they are flush with the battens.
  • Slide the batten end clips onto the overhanging batten ends and nail them in place.
Step 3: Install the Starter Piece
  • Snap the starter piece off the blanking plate.
  • Starting at the bottom edge of the roof, insert the starter piece into the front end of the verge unit.
  • Mark the position of the starter piece on the fascia and barge board.
  • Remove the unit and mechanically fix the starter piece into position through the grid.
Step 4: Attach the First Verge Unit
  • Slide the first verge unit over the tile at the eaves, and into the starter kit.
  • Ensure it fits under the head laps for a firm hold.
  • Screw-fix the unit through the top grid into the batten end clip and batten.
Step 5: Continue with Subsequent Verge Units
  • Slide the next verge unit into the upper edge of the first unit.
  • Press firmly to the tile, fitting it under the head laps for a secure hold.
  • Nail the unit through the top grid into the batten.
Step 6: Proceed Up the Barge Board
  • Continue this process along the barge board up to the ridge.
  • If necessary, insert the blanking plate over the final verge nail grid to prevent water ingress and improve aesthetics.
Step 7: Finish with a Ridge Cap
  • Upon reaching the ridge, insert a Ridge Cap.
  • Ensure the flexible flaps on the Ridge Cap contour around the outside of the Verge Unit.
  • Screw the Ridge Cap to the ridge batten.
