Installation Guide: Mini Access Chamber (MAC)
A Mini Access Chamber (MAC) is designed for inspecting, rodding, and clearing drainage lines, especially when space is limited.
Riser Shaft: Features a narrow riser shaft, suitable for drainage systems up to a depth of 600mm to the invert. For SfA7 installations, the chamber can be installed up to a depth of 2000mm.
Side Connections: Any unused side connections should be sealed with a plain socket plug.
Bends: If changes in direction are needed, bends should be installed at the chamber's point of entry. Side branches should not be used for direction changes as they may compromise the self-cleansing flow through the chamber.
Intermediate Depths: Depth can be adjusted by cutting the riser at indicated points.
Frame and Cover: The frame and cover should be adjusted to the adjacent ground level and surrounded by at least 50mm of concrete for stability.
Installation Guide: Large Inspection Chamber (LIC)
The Large Inspection Chamber (LIC) features a larger riser shaft, allowing it to be installed at greater depths and is ideal for deeper drainage systems.
Riser Shaft: The large diameter riser shaft allows the chamber to be installed up to a depth of 1200mm with a 450mm opening cover and frame. For installations deeper than 1200mm, a reduced 350mm opening cover and frame are required. For SfA7 installations, depths of 1000mm and 3000mm are possible.
Trench and Backfill: The chamber must be installed on a suitable bed, depending on trench and backfill quality. Backfill should be continued up to about 50mm from the finished ground level.
Frame and Cover Installation: The frame and cover should be placed on a concrete bed around the top of the riser. The frame is then securely fixed with self-tapping screws, and the cover is attached with captive screws to ensure it cannot be removed without unlocking the screws.
Adjustable Depth: The riser can be cut at 60mm intervals to achieve the desired depth. Additionally, the frame provides 55mm of telescopic adjustment.
Side Connections: As with the MAC, unused side connections should be sealed with a plain socket plug. Bends should be located at the point of entry to the chamber.
Direct Base Connection: For direct connection of the D930/D931/D940/D941 cover and frame to the base (D900/D910), riser D915 must be used and trimmed accordingly, just above the bottom-most large flange/rib.
Both chambers are designed for ease of installation, offering reliable access for maintenance and inspection of drainage systems.
